Community Service Award Nominations Due Feb. 17Published: February 15, 2012
Nominations are open for the 2012 CSULB Community Service Awards, recognizing one individual each in the categories of student, faculty, staff and alumnus/a (which includes all former students and friends of the university).
Sponsored by the CSULB Academic Senate, Staff Council, Alumni Association and Associated Students Inc., the annual awards recognize individuals who are involved in community activities including non-profit organizations or political, religious or social activism. Special attention is given to noteworthy accomplishments within the past 12 months. In all cases, sustained involvement and especially significant results will be considered. Preference will be given to unpaid volunteer service that is not part of one’s normal and expected occupational duties.
Complete nomination information and the form are available on the Staff Council website. Required documents include the nomination form, description of the service and its benefit to the community and to CSULB, a resume or CV, and one to three letters of recommendation. Self-nominations are encouraged. Former winners may be re-nominated five years after winning.
The deadline to submit nomination materials is noon Friday, Feb. 17 and packets should be mailed or hand-carried to the respective office for each category:
