Registration For OLLI Winter Session Begins EarlyPublished: December 1, 2011
Registration for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at CSULB for the winter session will begin Monday, Dec. 5, and for the first time can be done by either mail or in person in the OLLI Office located in the CSULB Human Services and Design Building [HS&D], Room 100, near the corner of Palo Verde Avenue and East University Drive. Winter session will run from Monday, Jan. 23, through Saturday, March 17.
OLLI is offering a number of lecture classes including new topics — What Do My Dreams Tell Me?, Heritage Planning, Film Noir – The Prequel, War Birds of WWII Fighters, Short Story Omnibus, Things About Aging, and The Brothers Karamazov. Returning this session will be Watercolor Workshop, Basic Conversational Spanish, Beginning and Advanced Bridge and many more. For those looking to improve their health and endurance, OLLI offers Tai Chi Chih, Fitness and Folk Dance, Longevity Stick and more. A new computer class offering this session will be Online to Shop and Travel. OLLI computer classes are conducted in a 10-seat PC and Mac equipped lab by skilled instructors.
There are currently three locations for classes – HS&D building on the CSULB campus room 101, 119, Lab and the Design building, Room 121; OLLI Downtown at 737 Pine Ave., Suite 202; and OLLI Leisure World, 13533 Seal Beach Blvd., Seal Beach.
OLLI at CSULB’s annual membership fee of $40 covers the winter; spring; summer and fall sessions and is pro-rated for the spring and summer sessions at $20. Tuition is $10 per lecture class and $35 per computer class. Parking permits are available for a fee.
