Staff Member Needed To Serve On University Resources CouncilPublished: November 14, 2011
A call for nominations has come from Staff Council for a staff member to serve on the University Resources Council (URC). The person selected will serve for fiscal/academic years 2011-14.
To be eligible, nominees must be a full-time staff member without faculty retreat rights and must obtain permission of your supervisor. Individuals may nominate themselves.
The committee is scheduled to meet on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, September through May, from 1-3 p.m. The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, Nov. 18 and those interested can submit a statement of interest, which should include where you work on campus and any other campus committees you have served on or services provided to the campus community. Once all the nominations are compiled, a campus-wide election will be conducted to select the staff member.
The URC reviews university financial reports and makes recommendations arising from these reports. In addition, the council will review, evaluate, set priorities where appropriate, and make recommendations on fiscal and business matters and such other support functions as instructional resources, allocation of faculty positions, allocation of space, institutional support budget, athletic budget, and self-support programs.
To send in your submissions or for further information, contact Cynthia Riley, Chair, Staff Council Nominating Committee in Brotman Hall 377, M/S 0128 at 562/985-1791.
