OLLI Hosts 2-Day DNA and Genetics Class Oct. 14-15

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at CSULB is hosting a two-day class titled “In the Beginning: DNA and Genetics” on Friday, Oct. 14, and Saturday, Oct. 15, to be held in CSULB’s Human Services and Design Building, Room 101.

The class, led by Garland Holt, mature learning instructor at Clark College in Vancouver, Wash., will cover recent findings in genetics and answer the question, “Should you have your DNA tested?”

The course includes four sessions over the two-day event:

Session 1
“Introduction to the Cell and DNA”
Friday, Oct. 14, 1:30-3 p.m.

Session 2
“Genetics”
Saturday, Oct. 15, 9-10:20 a.m.

Session 3
“DNA Testing”
Saturday, Oct. 15, 10:35 a.m.-noon

Session 4
“Discussion of Ethical Issues”
Saturday, Oct. 15, 1:15-2:35 p.m.
