OLLI Registration Set For June 25Published: June 15, 2011
Registration for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at CSULB summer session will be held Saturday, June 25, beginning at 9 a.m. A general membership meeting follows at 10 a.m. Registration and the meeting will be held in CSULB’s Human Services and Design building, Room 101, near the corner of Palo Verde Avenue and Anaheim Road. Free parking for this event is available in Lot 9. The summer session runs from Monday, July 11 through Saturday, Sept. 3.
OLLI will be offering a host of new classes this summer, including Shakespeare’s Sonnets, Introduction to Paper Art Techniques, Hollywood Bowl, Classic Nights, and Issues in Modern Spirituality.
Among the returning classes this session will be Play the Recorder, Drawing Workshop, Basic Conversational Spanish and Beginning Bridge. For those looking to improve their health and endurance, OLLI offers Tai Chi Chih, and Longevity Stick. A new computer class offering this session will be Photos with Picasa and Online to Shop and Travel (PC/MAC). OLLI computer classes are conducted in a 10-seat PC- and Mac-equipped lab by skilled instructors.
OLLI at CSULB’s annual membership fee of $40 covers the fall, winter, spring, and summer sessions and is prorated to $20 for the spring and summer sessions. Tuition is $10 per lecture class and $35 per computer class. Parking permits are available for a fee.
