Social Security/Medicare Workshop Set For May 9Published: May 2, 2011
Benefits Services will host a Social Security and Medicare Workshop on Monday, May 9 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. the Foundation Building, Room 204. A representative from the Social Security Administration will provide information on Social Security and Medicare Benefits and Programs. Whether you are ready to retire, or looking ahead to the future, this workshop has information for you.
Topics will include introduction to Social Security, how the system works, keys to a comfortable retirement, how retirement benefits are computed, Offsets: Windfall Elimination Provisions (WEP) and Government Pension Offsets (GPO), how work affects your benefits, Medicare Parts A and B; and eligibility enrollment periods.
