University Achievement Awards and Research Celebration April 26

The University Achievement Awards and Celebration of Research, Scholarly and Creative Activity will be held Tuesday, April 26, at The Pointe in The Pyramid. The events are designed to recognize the outstanding work and accomplishments of faculty, staff and students.

From 2-6:30 p.m. displays featuring student and faculty research and creative work will be available to view, the University Achievement Awards ceremony will take place from 4-5 p.m., and refreshments will be available from 5-6:30 p.m.

The awards program will honor the following 14 members of the campus community:

Outstanding Professor

Distinguished Faculty Scholarly and Creative Achievement Awards

  • Kim Phuong-Vu, Psychology
  • Paul Weers, Chemistry and Biochemistry

Distinguished Faculty Teaching Award

  • Antonella Sciortino, Civil Engineering and Construction Engineering Management

Distinguished Faculty Advising Award

  • Karen Hakim-Butt, Single Subject Credential Program

Early Academic Career Excellence Awards

Academic Affairs Award for Outstanding Faculty Mentor for Student Engagement in Research, Scholarly and Creative Activity
