Homecoming 2008 Set for Nov. 22Published: November 17, 2008
Alumni, family and friends are invited to celebrate Homecoming 2008 under the theme of “49er Days: Fall is Back 2008,” which will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, when the men’s basketball team plays host to Weber State at 4:05 p.m. in The Walter Pyramid.
Homecoming 2008 will be carried out with a weeklong list of activities beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 18, leading up to homecoming day and followed by a Pyramid 5K Run/Walk and Jr. 49er Youth Mile Challenge on Sunday, Nov. 23.
Homecoming day will feature many free activities for the entire family including campus tours (@12:30, 1, 1:30, 2 and 2:30 p.m.); Hotspots @ The Beach tours showcasing many campus landmarks, including the newly renovated University Library, the University Art Museum and the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden (@12:15,2:45,1:15,1:45 and 2:15 p.m.); the Wiener Dog Races, a CSULB Dance Team Spirit Clinic, University Art Museum activities, President’s Scholars family celebration and live entertainment. There will also be a Student Tailgate Zone, 49er Athletic Club Tailgate Pavilion, 3-on-3 basketball tournament, carnival games, caricature artist and many more activities. Most of the action will take place from noon-3:30 p.m. in parking lot 13 which is adjacent to The Walter Pyramid. Theme attire or CSULB logo is appreciated.
The CSULB Alumni Association and President’s Office will co-host a group tent, celebrating 49er Pride and Tradition with the campus community, alumni and friends. The alumni and friends barbecue buffet will be served from 1-3:30 p.m., with meal tickets costing alumni association members $10 for children (under 14), $20 for adults members and a guest, and $25 for non-members. Included with your meal ticket is the opportunity to win a variety of prizes. A commemorative giveaway will also be provided.
Game ticket packages are also available and include a meal ticket and a ticket for the men’s basketball game vs. Weber State. The cost for alumni association members is $15 for children (under 14), $25 for adult members and a guest, and $30 for non-members.
