Fall Registration, General Meeting for OLLI Held Sept. 11Published: September 1, 2010
Registration for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at CSULB for fall session will be held Saturday, Sept. 11, beginning at 9 a.m. A general membership meeting follows at 10 a.m. Registration and the meeting will be held in CSULB’s Human Services and Design building, Room 101, near the corner of Palo Verde Avenue and Anaheim Road. Free parking for this event is available in Lot 9. The fall session runs from Monday, Oct. 4, through Saturday, Dec. 4.
OLLI is offering a host of exciting lecture classes this fall, including these new topics titled Sources for the Journey, Economics for the Non-Economist, Healthier Living, Despotism vs. Morality, A Plan Reading Circle and others. Returning this session will be Little Known Facts About the First Ladies, Play the Recorder, Drawing Workshop, Conversational French; and many more. For those looking to improve their health and endurance, OLLI offers Tai Chi Chih and Longevity Stick. A new computer class offering this session will be Click-start Genealogy (Mac). OLLI computer classes are conducted in a 10-seat PC- and Mac-equipped lab by skilled instructors.
There are currently three locations for classes – HS&D Building on the CSULB Campus room 101, 119, Lab and the Design Building Room 121; OLLI Downtown at 737 Pine Avenue, Suite 202, and OLLI Leisure World 13533 Seal Beach Boulevard, Seal Beach.
OLLI at CSULB’s annual membership fee of $40 covers the fall, spring, winter and summer sessions. Tuition is $10 per lecture class and $45 per computer class, which also requires an annual $40 SeniorNet membership. Parking permits are available for a fee.
