Assumptions
The CSULB EOP was created based
on the following assumptions:
-
CSULB is primarily responsible
for emergency actions and will commit
all available resources to save lives,
minimize injury to persons, and minimize
damage on University property.
-
CSULB will utilize the Standardized
Emergency Management System (SEMS)
in the University EOC and the Incident
Command
System (ICS) in field response operations.
-
The CSULB Vice President
for Administration and Finance, serving
as
the Director of Emergency Services,
will manage and coordinate the University’s
disaster response in conformance
with City, County, State, and Federal
guidelines.
-
Upon request the resources of the
University may be made available to
City of Long
Beach, Los Angeles County, special
districts, local agencies, and citizens
to cope
with disasters affecting the community.
-
Mutual aid assistance will be requested
when disaster relief requirements
exceed the University’s ability
to respond.
-
Due to the dynamic nature of emergency
planning, the CSULB Emergency
Operations Plan must constantly evolve
to keep pace with the changes at
CSULB. The CSULB
Emergency
Operations Plan and the EOC Guidebook
will be reviewed on an annual basis.
