Ezra Homann (2000, BFA) is following in the footsteps of his mother, celebrity fashion designer Sue Wong, by starting his own line of casual apparel for men and women called Square, available in specialty boutiques.

Carrie Powell (2000, B.A., liberal studies) was promoted to architectural administrator in the corporate headquarters of Keystone Pacific Property Management Inc.

Marijane W. (Galusha) Antkiewicz (2001, M.S., education– student development) recently settled in San Diego after living in Europe for several years. She married Ronald Antkiewicz in 2002 and they had their first child last December.

Karla Haynes (2001, B.S., nursing) received her MPH degree in 2003 from University of Michigan. After marrying Francisco Rivera Jr., M.D., in May 2004 in Los Angeles, the couple moved to New York, where Karla is attending the pediatric nurse practitioner program at Columbia University.

Marissa Courdy (2003, B.A., English) joined Keystone Pacific Property Management Inc., where she is activities director of One Ford Road Homeowners Association in Newport Beach. Previously, Courdy was events coordinator for Country Garden Caterers.

Andrew Dickson (2003, MFA), a former art instructor at CSULB, is now an assistant professor of art at Huntington College, Huntington, Ind., where he teaches drawing and painting.

Sara Durham (2004, B.A., family and child development) is a development associate community manager for Keystone Pacific Property Management Inc. in Irvine.

Nirali Patel (2004, B.S., computer science) is working for ABC Television in Burbank as an application developer.

Honorable Mention

Sony Pictures Imageworks visual effects supervisor John Dykstra (industrial design major) won his second Best Visual Effects Academy Award in February for Spider-Man 2. This was his fifth Academy Award nomination. He earned an Oscar in 1977 for Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

Melissa (Sennatt) Webb (1993, B.S., business administration– finance) and her husband, Noel C. Webb (1994, B.S., business administration– finance) had triplets, Taylor, Kendall and Chloe, on Oct. 20, 2004 in Laguna Hills, Calif.

Weddings

Stacey Appleton (1991, B.S., criminal justice) and Eric Kimery were married Nov. 6, 2004 in the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden at CSULB.

Eri Yasui (1995, B.S., business administration–management) and Jason C. Olmos (1999, B.S., business administration– marketing) were married Jan. 10, 2004 in Long Beach.

Kristal Dizon (1999, B.S., health care administration) and Ferdinand Gorospe married in Glendale, Calif., on May 26, 2004.

Edward M. Hernandez (1999, B.S., business administration) and Katherine Greenberg (1999, B.A. communication studies) married on Aug. 28, 2004 at Saint Edward’s Church in Newark, Calif.

Maren Ahnberg (2003, B.A., psychology) and Alexandro Telander (2003, B.A., English) married on April 25, 2004 in Healdsburg, Calif.

Clifford W. Becker (1987, B.A., English), director of literature at the National Endowment for the Arts, died May 17 in Riverdale, Md.

Carol Buchner, staff emeritus, enrollment services, died March 13 in Corona, Calif.

Darrell V. Burras, professor emeritus, information systems, died Feb. 18, 2004, in Long Beach. He was 88.

Dennis P. Callahan (1969, B.A., history) died Jan. 26 in Manhattan Beach, Calif.

Neil A. Campbell (1967, B.S., zoology), author of the nation’s most widely used science textbook, Biology, died Oct. 21, 2004 in Redlands, Calif. He was 58.

Dennis Robert Coe (1969, business administration) died Oct. 23, 2004 in Los Angeles at age 57.

Gladys Crandell, University Foundation staff, died Aug. 30, 2004.

Rolando Cuervo (1969, B.S., microbiology) died Feb. 19 at age 67 in San Gabriel, Calif.

Sylvanis Dossi (1958, B.A., political science) died Jan. 9 at 79.

Lenora Duncan, staff emerita, nursing, died June 9 in Long Beach.

Max Freedland, who helped found CSULB’s Senior University program, died July 11 in Phoenix, Ariz., at age 87.

David E. Gray, professor emeritus, recreation and leisure studies, and former vice president, administration and staff coordination, died June 25 in Los Alamitos. He was 87.

Robert M. Hunsaker II (1980, B.S., business administration– accountancy) of Garden Grove died June 17, 2004.

Helen Marie Lindquist, associate professor emeritus, social work, died Aug. 1 in Long Beach. She was 79.

Ruth Lindsey, professor emerita, kinesiology and physical education, died May 29 in Albuquerque, N.M. She was 78.

Leslie Steven Manchester Jr. (2000, B.A., sociology) died Nov. 12, 2004 in Tarzana, Calif.

Richard McLaughlin, associate professor emeritus, instructional systems technology, died Jan. 23 in Northern California. He was 70.

Larry V. Morgan (1978, B.A., speech communication) died May 18, 2004 in Arizona.

Frank J. Palminteri (1972, B.A., physical education) died Oct. 12, 2004 in Corona at age 53.

Tom Rasmussen (1973, B.A., geography) died Jan. 15 in Long Beach at age 55.

Patricia Reid, the first chair of the women’s physical education program, died May 4.

Donald H. Simonsen, professor of chemistry emeritus and former acting president of CSULB, died Sept. 27, 2004, in Wheeler, Ore., at age 83.

Lee B. Stephens Jr., professor emeritus of biological sciences and former associate dean, died Nov. 11, 2004.

Brenda Weathers (1967, B.A, anthropology) died March 20 in Long Beach at age 68.

Robert W. Winslow, professor emeritus, music, died May 2, 2001. He was 89.
