The contractor for the Hall of Science Project will be conducting a crane lift on Saturday, January 30, 2010, to hoist all major mechanical equipment to the roof of the new building. The crane lift will intermittently limit the access on East Campus Drive to one lane through-out the day. The Contractor will provide flagman to direct traffic. We do not expect any other disruption to the campus as a result of this construction activity.
There will be traffic flow interruptions along Beach Drive for the period of February 1 through February 5, 2010. The interruptions are due to underground utility work that will be conducted in conjunction with the Nursing Building Addition Project. The contractor will close the southernmost lane of Beach Drive and the sidewalk on the south side of Beach Drive. Proper signage will be posted at both ends of the closure to safely divert vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Vehicle traffic will be diverted towards open lanes by signage and delineators. Pedestrian traffic will be diverted to the sidewalk on the north side of the street.
Nursing Building Addition ProjectAtherton Street, west bound, will be down to one lane from Palo Verde Avenue to McNab Avenue due to the covering and landscaping of the existing storm drain on Atherton St. Please expect some delays with traffic due to this construction from Palo Verde Avenue to McNab Avenue on Atherton Street.

(West County Connectors Project.) Delays may be expected due to construction on the the 7th Street Bridge, which serves drivers traveling north on the 405 and transitioning onto the westbound 22. That area is projected to close during summer 2010 and is slated to reopen one year later.

All traffic lanes on Atherton and Palo Verde will be open before the Spring semester starts on January 25, 2010. The new curbs will be poured, streets paved and heavy equipment removed before the last week in January.
(If landscaping is not complete by that date, all equipment and/or materials will be staged on the Atherton service road and will not interfere with traffic flow on Atherton or Palo Verde.)
Additions to the existing district are shown by dashed lines (see map graphic) The first few houses on San Vicente (N of Marita) are included. Also, the Atherton service road east of Hackett is included on the north side to Iroquois, and on the south side it will be no parking anytime.
