The About.com Travel site is a great place to look for information on travel to almost any place on the globe.

American Hotel and Lodging Association
Though most content is for members, choose "news" or "governmental affairs" for reports on the industry.

CDC Traveler's Health Information
This site provides health information (necessary vaccines, information regarding outbreaks, and reference materials) for travelers. There is also health information by geographic region.

Discover America
A comprehensive U.S. travel site.

Fodors.Com
This site by the renowned publisher of travel publications, is a one-stop-shop for travelers. The heart of the site are the personalized mini-guides which allows the traveler to input a world region and destination and create a personalized guide to their destination that includes information on hotels, restaurants, sites & activities, nightlife, shopping, arts and much much more.

Free Trip.com
This site provides a highway trip planner that creates personalized driving itineraries that includes hotel/lodging information, restaurants and points of interest that will be on your way.

Global Travel and Tourism Partnership
GTTP is an association of nine member Travel & Tourism Programs for students in Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Jamaica, Russia, South Africa and the U.K (and associate members United States and Spain). Includes information and news by country, travel books and resources, and ways to connect with students in other countries.

The purpose of this database from Michigan State University Extension is to organize useful information on a variety of tourism related topics, identify additional resource people and organizations and suggest additional resources available, such as books, videos and publications.

An official U.S. Government site produced and maintained by Tourism Industries office.

Overseas Development Institute: Research on Tourism
Pro-Poor Tourism (PPT) is tourism that generates net benefits for the poor. PPT strategies aim to unlock opportunities for the poor, rather than to expand the overall size of the sector.  PPT strategies are not confined to a specific product sector tourism, as PPT is an approach to the industry.

PKF is an international firm providing a range of services to the hospitality, real estate and tourism industries.
