California Budget.

California Department of Finance has the official state of California budget with hearings, committee work and commentary.

Governor's Budget and Revision has the information going to the legislature.

Legislative Analysts's Office contains an analysis of the budget and future implications.

California Budget Project contains analysis of the state budget in relationship to low-income families.

California State Association of Counties has new items on how the budget affects counties.

Financial Economic Data for California (CA Department of Finance) this site contains the economic indicators, capital outlays and tax expenditures for California.

Anti-terrorism for Cities.

Anti-terrorism Information Center (CA Office of the Attorney General) contains mainly links to Federal efforts.

California Office of Emergency Services has links to dealing with various emergencies, including terrorism. When you get to the page click on Homeland Security.

California State Association of Counties has a collection of links for California counties needing anti-terrorism information.

Sustainable Development or Smarth Growth.

Smarth Growth Online produces publications on housing, neighborhoods, environment, health and transportation.

Smart Growth America is mostly an advocacy organization but includes news and publications on housing, urban vitality, children and schools, transportation, open space and health and aging.

Smart Growth by the Natural Defense Resource Council provides examples and a few publications.

Smart Growth by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. There are publications, grants and definitions.

California Campaign Financing Reform.

Cal-Access is financial data for California state level campaigns. This includes candidates' finance disclosures and lobbying activities.

Elections.

California Candidates lists those who have filed for an office.

Initiates/Propositions tracks those initiates getting signatures to be on the ballot.

Fire Management.

Fire Safety Program lists ideas for protecting property during dry conditions.

California Fire Plan is the state plan to deal with large fires.

California Office of Emergency Services has a fire management branch, including work with the federal forest service.

Homeless affecting LA Business and Shops

There has been a case  Jones v. City of Los Angeles, 444 F.3d 1118, C.A.9 (Cal.), April 14, 2006.

"Downtown Center Business Improvement District" annual reports have some mention of the homeless.



Central Business Association has on their site, has items about homelessness and housing. Reports on affordable housing.
