There are several types of search engines and each gather web sites differently. Currently there is no one comprehensive engine that "finds it all". After a search, evaluate each site for reliable information. Listed below are directory type search engine, a preferred search engine because each web site has been chosen, which means a minimal review for content has taken place.

Project Vote Smart - Issue Organizations by Project Vote Smart. This directory leads to organizations by issues or state. Each entry provides background on who they are and web information. They also provide information on Political Think Tanks, Political Science web base resources, and Polling Sources.
