General Political Science.

Academic Search Complete. Good starting place for all political science topics from 1985 to present. Leads to both scholarly and popular journals articles, book reviews and news articles.

International Political Science Abstracts leads to scholarly articles in 900+ political science journals back to 1975.

Annual Review. A collection of scholary articles on major political science topics.

Governments.

International Political Science Abstracts leads to scholarly articles in 900+ political science journals back to 1975.

CountryWatch. Get news and data on 192 countries. TIP: Use Country Review for information on political situation, government structure and function, etc.

American Politics and Government.

MAS Ultra. Leads to scholarly and popular magazine articles, book reviews and news articles on United State Congress or politics and government from 1984 to present.

CQ Public Affairs Collection. This full-text collection of primary documents, articles and statistics on the Unites States government and its' process from about 1965 to present. CQ Politics is a news service that adds current materials to this collection.

America History and Life. Abstracts lead to articles (mainly scholarly), book reviews, theses and book chapters dealing with United States Congress, Government, etc. Covering 1955 to present these articles lean towards historical events.

Political History.

Combined Retrospective Index to Journals in Political Science. This is a paper index that leads to articles written from 1886 to 1974 on all the subjects listed here. The articles written at the time of the event or from a historical perspective. Many of the journal indexed here have articles full-text in Project Muse or JSTOR.

America History and Life Abstracts lead to articles (mainly scholarly), book reviews, theses and book chapters dealing with historical events with United States Congress, Government, etc. Covering 1955 to present.

Humanities and Social Sciences Index Retrospective. An index that leads to articles and book review in scholarly journal published between 1907 to 1983. To get the articles, read "How to get an article."

Readers' Guide Retrospective. An index that leads to articles written in popular magazines from 1890 to 1982. To get the articles, read "How to get an article."

America's Historical Newspapers, 1690-1876 (Formerly Early American Newspapers, Series 1) Full-text reproductions of more than 650 American newspapers.  Northern and "Old Northwest" newspapers are covered up until 1876. Southern newspaper coverage stops by the 1820s.

Early American Imprints, Series I: Evans, 1639-1800 Full-text books, pamphlets and broadsides written during the 17th- and 18th-century America, many materials on foreign affairs, diplomacy, and events at the time include the Revolutionary War.

Anthropology Plus. Elections, Parties and Voting.

CQ Voting and Elections. Full-text encyclopedia and voting statistics. Data from 1968 to present. Some demographic tables from 1828.

Academic Search Complete. Leads to scholarly and popular articles, book reviews, or news on elections, voting and various American and international political parties from 1985 to present. It does cover international subjects but only in English language publications.

OnCongress Cq.com. Full-text elections results by United States congressional members and history of legislation votes.

Sociological Abstracts. Abstracts lead to scholarly and professional articles, on voting behavior and society dealing with elections back to 1963. To get the articles, read "How to get an article."

PsychInfo. Abstracts lead to scholarly and popular magazine articles and book chapters that deal with voting behavior back to 1887. To get the articles, read "How to get an article."

CQ Politics - Campaigns. Congressional Quarterly site that provides information and news on Presidential, Congressional and Governor elections.

Public Policy and Administration.

ABI/Inform Complete. Leads to articles (in scholarly, trade journals and newspapers) on both the corporate and public sector in budgeting, personnel management, or governmental services (i.e. contracting out or e-business) from 1971 to present.

Public Administration Abstracts. Leads to abstracts in scholarly and book chapters on budgeting, management, personnel, housing, and transportation from 1956 to present. To get the articles, read "How to get an article."

Public Law or Legislative Process.

Westlaw Campus Research Full-text articles from law reviews, cases, and laws back to 1990 to date.

Lexis Nexis Academic. Fulll-text articles from law reviews and legal newspapers that provide background on laws or the legislative process back to 1970.

OnCongress.com. Full-text primary documents from the United States Congress concerning legislative process on bills and laws. They also provide a news service called CQ Politics.

CQ Public Affairs Collection. Articles and primary documents on legislation and the process.

Religion and Politics.

ATLA Religion Database. Abstracts lead to scholarly and populart articles, essays, reviews and media on politics and religion from 1949 to present. TIP: Politics and {name of a religion} is a good keyword search. To get the articles, read "How to get an article."

Political Communications or Political News.

Communication and Mass Media Complete. Leads to schoarly and popular articles back to 1915 on political campaigns, presidential debates, etc. To get the articles, read "How to get an article."

Library PressDisplay Full-text news from 300+ newspaper from around the world for the last 60 days, no historical information.

Comparative Politics.
