NPR: Legal Affairs by National Public Radio provides the current news both print and audio that is happening.

Adoption:

Adoption Information by the United States Department of State provides legal materials on international adoptions.

Adoption Policy Resource Center by Adoption Subsidy Advocates leads to legal decisions on various types of adoptions. 

Nolo's Encyclopedia of Everyday Law by Nolo Press provides basic information on the types of adoptions.

Adoption.com leads to California laws use box on right. 

Adoption by Wex, Cornell Law School gives legal definitions, federal, state and international information on adoptions.

Business & Labor:

Doing Business Law Library by World Bank provides information on various aspects of business laws. This online collection of business laws and regulations are to official government sources wherever possible. Translations are not official unless indicated otherwise.  

Business.gov by the U.S. Small Business Administration provides links to licenses and permits, taxation or human resources law.

National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is the agency that has hearings between unions and employers of private sector.

Children:

Center for Family and Children Court has cases and resources dealing with children in the courts.

Cultural & Archeology:

National Park Service (NPS) Laws, executive orders and regulations contains the laws and regulations that govern the preservation of the nation's cultural heritage developed over the course of the 20th century, beginning with the protection of cultural sites on federal lands.

First Amendment Rights:

First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt University provides research materials organized by topic under the five freedoms of the First Amendment: speech, press, religious liberty, assembly and petition. Links to the United States Supreme Court and news on First Amendment issues are included.

Marriage & Domestic Partnership:

Domestic Relations by LawMoose of Minnesota leads to state laws on marriage. 

Lesbian and Gay Rights by ACLU has legal documents on same-sex marriages that have been in the courts.

Attorney Referral Services:


Lawyer Referral Services by the State Bar of California certifies lawyers who can handle your problem. If your particular problem can be resolved without a lawyer, the referral service will tell you how to get the help you need.

Find a Lawyer by LA Law Library is a collection of links to Southern California referral services.

Martindale Lawyer service by LexisNexis provides a service like the yellow pages for attorneys. Consider the top 10 lists of firms that litigate specific areas.

Find a Lawyer by Lawyer.com is a service like the yellow pages in the telephone book. They also provide AskALawyer question & answer section.

Traffic:

Legislative Tracking Database provides the current years tracking of legislation regarding traffic laws only.

Google Directory: Drunk Driving is a directory of sites with laws, statistics or general information on drunk driving.

Lemon Car Laws is arranged by state, providing laws dealing with a car that is a "lemon" or "bad" vehicle.

Nolo's Cars and Tickets is a legal encyclopedia on driving and the various laws that goes with driving.

State Traffic and Speed Laws is arranged by state, gives links to traffic laws.

American Motorcyclist Association is an organization that defends the rights of motorcyclists by seeking out bad laws and anti-motorcycling discrimination at all levels and is also the world's largest motorsports sanctioning body. The site also contains fatality statistics.

Interstate Compacts:

National Center for Interstate Compacts by the Council of State Governments is directory of various compacts back to 1798. Compacts deal with water or land boundaries, waste disposal, children, etc. If you need more information on what interstate compacts see the resources section.

Famous Trials:

Famous Trials by Douglas O. Linder, University of Kansas-Missouri City Law School on famous trials from 399 B.C. to 2006.

Famous Cases by CourtTV are those trials that have had televised since 1999.

Famous American crimes and trials by Frankie Bailey and Steven Chermak is a 5-volume encyclopedia of trials from 1607 to 2000.

Other Southern California Law Libraries:

Los Angeles County Law Library The Los Angeles County Law Library is available to anyone who is making use of the materials and services. Attorneys, judges, paralegals, students, residents of Los Angeles County and visitors to Los Angeles County are welcome. Telephone or email service is available for those unable to visit the library or its branches.

Orange County Public Law Library Any person who qualifies to register may borrow material from the Library. They have a Ask a Librarian. That is any resident, Judge, Official of Orange County or an Attorney who resides or has a law office in Orange County may register as a borrower.
