Country Reports on Human Rights Practices. An annual report to the United States Government concerning human rights issues in each country, includes an annual report on international religious freedoms.
Encyclopedia of Human Rights Issues Since 1945, by Winston Langley, Greenwood Press, 1999. Lists significant dates in human rights, and an encyclopedia describing places, people and events and documents on the International Bill of Human Rights and Conventions on the Rights of the Child.
Encyclopedia of Nationalism, by Academic Press, 2001. This encyclopedia deals with themes like revolutions, violence, war, security, etc. The second volume is arranged alphabetically by movements, leaders, ethnic cleansing, genocide, pacifism, racism, slavery, etc.
Encyclopedia of Politics and Religion, edited by Robert Wuthnow, Congressional Quarterly, 1998. This encyclopedia defines the interconnection of politics and religion and how these two institutions combined to shape public discourse. The topics covered include communism, humanitarianism, Libya, pacifism and war to name a few. Do not ignore the appendices in volume 2. There you will find documents, selected readings on Islam and Roman Catholicism, Constitutions of the World and Politics and Religion on the Internet.
Encyclopedia of Violence, Peace, and Conflict, edited by Lester Kurtz, Academic Press, 1999. This encyclopedia contains topics like violence, peace and conflict studies. Each entry is organized with an outline of the general article contents, glossary of terms, defining statement, and a large bibliography. The Preface defines violence.
International Encyclopedia of Human Rights: Freedoms, Abuses and Remedies by Robber L. Maddex, Congressional Quarterly, 2000. This dictionary is arranged alphabetically by concepts, declarations, people and organizations that deal with Human Rights.
Researching National Security and Intelligence Policy, by Bert Chapman, Congressional Quarterly, 2004. This book helps to research United States national security issues.
Oxford Companion to Military History for entries on Iran-Iraq war.
Political Violence and Terror in Modern America by Christopher Hewitt is a chronology of incidents that carry political or social objectives from 1954 to 2004.
Academic Search Elite. Leads to magazine articles, scholary journal articles, book reviews and news on international social relations, globalization, trade and aid, population growth and conflict from 1985 to present. To access the articles that are not full-text, read "How to get an article."
Military and Government Collection. Leads to magazine and journal articles, images, pamphlets, primary documents, government documents on topics like international relations, military and security issues, technology of weapons, etc. Covers 1960's to present. Social Science Abstracts. Leads to scholary journal articles, essays, book reviews and reports on international conflict, terrorism, forced migration and human rights from 1983 to present. To access the articles found, read "How to get an article."
Population Index. Leads to books, journal articles, working papers, and other materials on population topics from 1986 to 2000 on topics like migration, conflict, war, human rights, etc. To access the articles found, read "How to get an article."
Economist Backgrounder. Provides current news (last 90 days) on topics like refugees, war on terrorism, war-crimes tribunals, etc.

International Women's Conferences, Concerns and Resources. A directory of sites that deal with international women's human rights. Done by the University of Wisconsin Women's Studies Librarian.
International Women' Web Sites. An annotated research guide of sources on international Women. The links address women's issues outside the United States, links are in various languages.
Migration Information Source by Global Data Center is an interactive database that generates tables of migration. There is news, migration/immigration policy and refugee data.
MIPT Terrorism Knowledge base by National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism (OK). Search or browse in catagories dealing with terrorism and response groups. Search by geography, event, date, etc. This database features interactive maps, biographies, graphs and summaries of terrorist events back to 1968.
Research Guide in International Relations. A research guide that is a companion to this subject, internationals studies. Mostly NGOs, Associations and think tank websites. There is a third companion called Research Guide to Environmental Issues in the World Economy, more economic and environmental websites.
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees WriteNet Reports. Valuable background reports on troubled countries and regions, written by noted academic specialist. The reports deal with human rights, forced migration, ethnic and political conflict. These reports are in .pdf format.
Yahoo: Migration and Ethnic Relations. A directory type of engine on migration, genocide and refugees.

Amnesty International Amnesty International (AI) plays a specific role in the international protection of human rights. Its activities focus on prisoners, torture, relief and refugees, etc. The site contains documents of campaigns by AI in various countries and regions to overcome inhuman acts.
Anti-Slavery International a British organization offers information on child labor and trafficking.
Center for World Indigenous Studies Has the Fourth World Documentation Project, which is library of over 500 documents which record and preserve peoples' struggles to regain their rightful place in the international community; and has other web links dealing with the Fourth World.
DIANA There is a collection of human rights documents. The site is dedicated to completing the pioneering work in human rights information of Diana Vincent-Daviss. There are also bibliographies on various human rights issues.
Foreign Affairs. This site links to sites of world news, world commentary, topics on international relations and finally it has site resources by region and by country.
Human Rights Watch. Contains news, topics and events happening on human rights.
Human Trafficking. Repackaged materials from the U.S. Department of State reports on Human Trafficking but does lead to more matierals. This also contains news and events dealing with human trafficking topics.
International Relations and Security Network The International Relations and Security Network (ISN) is an Internet-based initiative to promote the free flow of unclassified information in the field of international relations and security policy. It was started in 1994. Subject links lead to web pages on population and migration, minorities and ethnicity, human rights, terrorism, etc. Regional links to annotated areas of political interest and includes icons to determine web sites that are full text, government-related, informational, etc.
OneWorld.net This site provides news, opinions and analysis articles from over 1,600 organizations dealing with economic development and human rights. Notice topic guide and country guide on the right column.
United Nations. This site has links to work being done by the UN in peace and security, economic and social development, human rights and other humanitarian areas. Note there is a section of international treaties and tribunals.
United State Department of State. This agency gathers data and submits several annual reports to the U.S. Congress. There is the International Religious Freedom Report, Information on International Adoption and Child Abduction, International Narcotic, Trafficking in Persons, and Refugees and Migration.
University of Minnesota Human Rights Library A collection of documents related to human rights. Collection includes treaties, reports issued by organizations and a wide variety of material. Bibliographies and annotate links to other resources sites. Some subjects covered are refugees, criminal tribunes and women's rights, etc. It is in English, Arabic, Russian, French, Spanish, and Japanese languages.
Women's International League for Peace and Freedom A nongovernmental organization with close ties to the United Nations. The links provide documents on disarmament, peace, human rights, economic justice and environmental rights.
Statistical data at the international level is hard to find. Use Research Guide for International Studies, Find Statistics for information. Consider Find Articles, Statistical Sources (note mostly United States based statistics) or Statistics, World and United States (note mostly United States and general types of statistics).
Arab Association for Human Rights. This website deals with the Palestinian Arab minority in Israel.
Center for the Study of Bioterrorism. This website deals with bioterrorism and links to various sites dealing with the related issues.
Child Labor Coalition. This website deals with child labor abuse and links to reports and ways to help with the problem.
Population Institute. This group is a policy influencing venue on concerns dealing with overpopulation. The site has resource links.
Vigilance Sudan. An english and french language site dealing with the human rights issues in the Sudan.
Conflict and War. CBC of Canada radio programs on topics like bioterrorism, war, peacekeeping, Somalia, etc.
