U.S. Treaties

The following list of sites are to treaties where the United States Government is a party. Other U.S. treaty sites are linked in the Hot Topics or Non-U.S. Treaties. There are copies of U.S. Treaties in books check the Books and References for titles and location.  If you need help in How to find a treaty, check out the William and Mary College site.

THOMAS: Treaty Search allows you to search U.S. treaties from 1975 to today by keyword or topic.

Trade and Related Agreements Database are agreements between the United States and other countries concerning trading of manufactured and services, no agricultural products.

Senate Treaty Documents by Government Printing Office allows searching for U.S. treaties by congress back to 1995. Click on the Senate Treat Documents for good search.

Senate Treaty Action does not contain the treaties but alerts you to which treaties have had action by the current Senate.

United States Treaty Affairs does not have treaties but list recognized treaties and agreements. The United States Treaties in Force tells which treaties are still recognized by the United States government and where it was posted with the TIAS (Treaties and Other International Agreements) or UST (United States Treaties) identifiers. Pre-George W. American Diplomacy 1778 to the Present : Bilateral Treaties and Agreements is part of the Avalon Project by Yale Law School and has the digitized versions of these historic treaties. Search by country or century.

American Diplomacy : Multilateral Treaties and Agreements is also part of the Avalon Project by Yale Law School and has the digitized versions of historic. Arranged by date, most are war related.

Treaties between the United States and Native Americans by the Avalon Project at Yale Law School is a historical collection of treaties within the U.S.
