Human Rights in the World

Comprehensive Law and Government Portal by HG worldwide a consortium of legal professionals provide links to treaties and countries' laws concerning human rights, slavery, and civil rights. Note some of the links are not current.

Human Rights Research Guide by Columbia University Law School contains national, regional and international links to legal materials on human rights.

Human Rights Library by University of Minnesota is a search engine to find treaties and other international instruments dealing with human rights. Available in five languages and provides other links to aspects of human rights.

Multilaterals Project on Human Rights from Tufts University Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy contains historical agreements and/or treaties dealing with the various parts of human rights, i.e. Geneva convention, human rights and biomedicine, etc.

WWW Virtual Library: Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs is a good collection of human rights sites.  Some of the annotations on the sites refer to legal issues and documents, like NATLEX legal database from the International Labor Organization (mostly in French language),  International Human Rights Resources on the Web-by the Notre Dame Law School, and the Treaties & customary international humanitarian law by the International Red Cross.

University of Chicago's Human Rights and Minorities list several useful sites.



Immigration and Refugee

University of Minnesota Human Rights Library Asylum and Refugee Resources links to legal resources.

UNHCR: Refugee Agency Legal Information is a searchable site for legal documents relating to refugees, asylum seekers, stateless persons and other persons of concern to UNHCR.

Documents in Migration Law by Center for International European Law on Immigration and Asylum links to various Eruopean countries legal materials in English or German.

Immigration and Asylum from EurLex contains the 22 EU countries statements and documents on this topic.

Research Guide on International Refugee Law by Elisa Mason provide links to site in this legal area.

International Copyright and Cultural Property

Hieros Gamos The Comprehensive Law and Government Portal links to treaties and various countries' laws concerning copyright and intellectual property.

Legal Protection of Cultural Property: A Selective Resource Guide by LLRX

links to information concerning copyright and cultural proporty worldwide.

University of Chicago's International Intellectual Property Law links to sites.



International Environmental Law

Columbia University's Environmental Policy Studies: Primary Source Documents: Laws, Treaties, Regulations links are mainly United States oriented but includes international legal documents.

EcoLex: A Gateway to Environmental Law is a joint project of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and IUCN-The World Conservation Union. Search for multilateral treaties; national legislation; European Union instruments; international "soft law" and related documents; law and policy literature; and judicial decisions.

Globelaw was originally part of Greenpeace and links to various multilateral treaties and conventions. Unique materials included are on nuclear testing and transportation.

International Environmental Law Research Guide by American Society of International Law has links to various legal materials.

Multilaterals Project from Tufts University is search engine to full-text historical and current agreements and/or treaties dealing with the various parts of the environment, i.e. atmosphere and space, marine and coastal, etc.

North American Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) is an international organization created by Canada, Mexico and the United States under the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation (NAAEC). The CEC was established to address regional environmental concerns, help prevent potential trade and environmental conflicts, and to promote the effective enforcement of environmental law. The Agreement complements the environmental provisions of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) while links in Related Documents and Sites provides the agencies involved with North America environmental concerns.

WWW Virtual Library: Global Environment is a good listing of environmental sites. Some of the annotation on the various sites refer to legal issues and documents.



War and Conflict

CAIN Project: Northern Ireland Conflict deals with the Northern Ireland conflict of 1968 to present. There are legal documents under Key Issues.

Lawyer's Committee on Nuclear Policy is the US affiliate of the International Association of Lawyers Against Nuclear Arms (IALANA), a nonprofit educational association that uses national and international law to promote peace and disarmament. This website contains links to the World Court, International Criminal Court in dealing with nuclear weapons.

Multilaterals Project from Tufts University on Warfare and Arms Control contains links historical agreements and/or treaties dealing with the various issues like terrorism, genocide and weapons.

Peace Agreements Digital Collection by the United States Institute of Peace links to agreements signed by the major contending parties ending inter- and intra-state conflicts worldwide since 1989. Arranged by continent it is easy to use.

University of Chicago's War Crimes is a site of links, including the International Criminal Court.

WWW Virtual Library: Peace, Conflict Resolution and International Security contains links to sites that deal with war and peace. There are not many treaties or legal agreements in this area.

Transnational Organized Crime and Money Laundering

Transnational Organized Crime Links by TraCCC at George Mason University provides links to various legal documents and reports.

International Money Laundering Information Center by United Nations allows searching by country or region in various languages for laws and other legal documents on money laundering.

FinCen by U.S. Department of Treasury has links to all the various money laundering intergovernmental groups.
