Administration on Aging
This site "is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of a wide variety of topics, programs and services related to aging." 

American Fact Finder
From the census bureau, the AFF is an online source for population, housing, economic and geographic data that presents the results from the most recent information from four key data programs:  Decennial Census of Housing and Population; the Economic Census; American Community Survey; and the Population Estimates Program.  It is fully searchable and easy to manuver through.

California Employment Development Department
Essential for finding California labor market information, this piece of the official California state site offers answers to questions like: "Which jobs are in demand," "What do they pay," and "How many workers are unemployed?"  The site also has a section on the most requested topics and how to file claims for unemployment, family leave and more.

California Statistical Abstract
"This is the 44th edition of the California Statistical Abstract, a compilation of data on social, economic, and physical aspects of the State. The volume is a cooperative effort of various government agencies, coordinated and issued annually by the California Department of Finance, Economic Research Unit."  You can view the tables of information in either Excel or PDF format and instructions are given on how to do each.

Census Bureau
The official census site.

Child Stats
This web site offers easy access to federal and state statistics and reports on children and their families, including: population and family characteristics, economic security, health, behavior and social environment,and education.

Consumer Action
Consumer Action is a non-profit, membership-based organization,that serves consumers nationwide by advancing consumer rights, referring consumers to complaint-handling agencies through our free hotline, publishing educational materials in Chinese, English, Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese and other languages, advocating for consumers in the media and before lawmakers, and comparing prices on credit cards, bank accounts, and long distance services.

Consumer.gov
Consumer information on a variety of topics from the federal government.

Consumer Reports
Known for sticking up for consumer's rights since 1936, Consumer Reports' website is well organized and very useful.  The site offers the famed reports that this group is known for, as well as other information, such as the history of Consumer Reports.

The Economic Statistics Briefing Room
Part of the White House page, this site offers easy access to current Federal economic indicators broken down by topic.


Federal Reserve Education
This educational site provides all kinds of educational resources regarding the Federal reserve, including the fun FED 101 site that comes in a Flash version or an HTML version.  The FED 101 site
explain in detail, but in easy to understand language all about the Federal Reserve and all that that entails.

FirstGov
This site is called the "U.S. Government's Offiicial Web Portal," but what it actually does is provide easy access in an easy to use format to government information on the web.

Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Consumer Information
"Education is a key tool to prevent consumer injury. In this section of our website, you'll find publications with advice on avoiding scams and rip-offs, as well as tips on other consumer topics."  The site offers an easy  way to file complaints and see hot topics in consumer protection.

Identity Theft:  Prevention and Survival
The website was written by Mari J. Frank, an attorney and identity theft survivor who also authored Identity Theft Survival Kit; A Complete Package For Restoring Your Credit And Peace Of Mind. The website offers facts, resources, testimonials and more on identity theft and how to prevent it.

Internal Revenue Service
The official site of the IRS.

MSN-Moneycentral
This site from MSN offers top Money news pieces, the lastest on the stock market, sections on investing and banking and much, much more.

National Center for Health Statistics
Under the Center for Disease Controll, The National Center for Health Statistics' Web site is "a rich source of information about America’s health. As the Nation’s principal health statistics agency, we compile statistical information to guide actions and policies to improve the health of our people. We are a unique public resource for health information–-a critical element of public health and health policy."

Social Security Online
The official site for the Social Security Administration.  The site offers tons of information and includes the ability to file for retirement benefits and disability benefits online.

Social Statistics Briefing Room
From the White House, the social statistics site is broken down into 4 main areas: Crime, Demography, Education and Health.

Statistical Abstract of the United States
This is the online version of our most popular Reference book.  The data is taken from census information and you can view the most version issue or selected past issues. 

THOMAS - Legislative Information on the Internet
This site, which is run by the Library of Congress, is an easy way to track legislation and find out who is in the House and the Senate, what is being discussed on the House floor this week, how Congress makes laws and much much more.

Yahoo-Finance
Similar to the MSN site above, this commercial site offers top money news stories, areas on investment and banking and market summaries.
