EEVL: Internet Guide to Engineering, Mathematics and Computing launched a new service called
EEVL Xtra which "cross-searches over 20 collection relevant to engineering, mathematics and computing, including content from over 50 publishers and providers," including subject specific content from the hidden web which isn't indexed by Google or Google Scholar. (learn more)

Google Scholar New.
Google is beta testing a new search engine that uses Google technology to search scholarly or peer reviewed literature including journal articles, preprints, books, thesis, abstracts and technical reports that are available on the Internet.  Full text may be available or search the CSULB Library (such as Locate Journals, search by journal title) for a copy.  Use Illiad:InterLibrary Loan to request items we do not have.

Scirus Scirus logo.
One of the most comprehensive Scientific search engines, produced by publisher Elsevier, it contains 167 million web pages.  It allows you to search many separate databases with one search such as ArXiv.org, Medline, Biomed Central, CogPrints, and the Computer Science Preprint Server.
