  • Catherwood Library of Industrial and Labor Relations
    Make note of the Electronic Archives, a collection of full text publications, mainly government reports on employee-employer relations from Cornell University, Catherwood Library, one of the foremost labor libraries; also note the Kheel Center, a labor-management archives.
  • Glossary of Labor and Legal Terminology
    Straight forward dictionary of related terms, with only a handful of links.  Unfortunately color scheme of black background makes it hard on the eyes.
  • Holt Labor Library: Labor Studies and Radical History
    Search the library's card catalog or take advantage of their internet links.  As its name states heavily focused on labor as one of the radical movements in U.S. history.  A solid listing of nearly 40 U.S. and Canadian labor libraries and archives.
  • Institute for Industrial Relations
    From the University of California, Berkeley includes its various centers, community outreach and research, publications and internet resources.
  • International Labour Organization
    "Promote and realize standards, fundamental principles and rights at work"
  • Labor History Hot Links
    From the School of Labor and Industrial Relations at Michigan State University, a simple not too long, but very valuable alphabetical list without notes.
  • Labor Research Association
    News, polls, trends from non-profit research and advocacy organization covering union, political, and economic news and trends.
  • Labor Watch
    Z-magazine from the Harvard Trade Union Program and the Midwest Center for Labor Research. Updated every two weeks.
  • Labour Economics Gateway: LEG
    From Jacques Brosius, Luxembourg.  Links to sites of interest to labor economists includes links to the home pages of labour economists, documents and journals, statistics and data.  International; watch British spellings.
  • Major Work Stoppages
    From the Bureau of Labor Statistics on the major (more than 1,000 persons) work stoppages fronm 1947-2000.
  • Reference Sources in US Labor Studies
    From the Bobst Library at New York University includes biographies, handbooks, primary sources and web pages.
  • Southern Labor Archives
    From the William Russell Pullen Library at Georgia State University, this library is dedicated to the "documentary heritage of Southern workers and their unions;" it is the official repository of records from various unions and state federations of labor.
  • Walter P. Ruether Library
    This site at Wayne State University in Detroit provides links to industrial relations libraries and to urban and labor archive sites throughout the US.
  • Working - New York Times
    This Times section deals with articles on all aspects of the American worker.  Free registration is required and is Real Player.
  • WTO (World Trade Organization) History Project
    A project of various units of the University of Washington including the Harry Bridges Center for Labor Studies, this site fosuses on the protests of late 1999 in Seate during the WTO meeting with "special attention to the role played by organized Labor;" it also provides an historical perspective.

  • Fair Labor Association
    A nonprofit organization to protect the rights of workers worldwide; links and resources specificially targeted to eliminating sweatshop practices.
  • Human Rights for Workers
    Links to sites related to worker right issues worldwide including sweatshops.
  • National Labor Committee
    A nonprofit organization to promote and defend human and worker rights including sweatshops.
  • Sweatshop Watch
    A coalition committed to eliminating sweatshop conditions in the global garment industry; covers the garment industry, articles, links and a newsletter.
  • Unite: Stop Sweatshops Campaign
    A clothing workers union with a definition of sweatshops, a consumers guide to decent clothes and links and resources to related materials.
  • United Students Against Sweatshops
    With representation from over 200 campuses, supports the rights of working class people everywhere.
