A very useful web site from the state of California, a great deal of statistical information.

 California Business Resources 
Has information and useful resources for doing business in California .

 State and Local Government on the Net 
Index to government agencies with Web sites...by state, county, city.  Easier to find a specific California government agency, than with the California State government site.

 Yahoo: State Government
Includes the category of "politics" for a wide variety of politically interested or active (non-governmental) organizations.

The official business link to the U.S. government.

 Commerce Business Daily
Free online listing of Government contracting opportunities.

 FedStats
A gateway site to U.S. federal agencies and their statistics. 

 FedWorld Information Network
A comprehensive central access point for locating and acquiring government information from the Department of Commerce. 

 GPO Access
Searchable Federal Register & U.S. Code, Congressional Bills online, GAO reports, Congressional Directory; because of FR & Code good for tax related content. 

 Market Access & Compliance
Commerce Department site giving local and regional information for American exporters.

 STAT-USA
Business and economic information from over 50 Federal agencies. Includes all data from the National Trade Data Bank (NTDB). Remote access available only to CSULB Students, Staff, & Faculty. Use your Library PIN.

 U.S. Consumer Gateway
A one-stop link to a broad range of federal information resources for consumers from FirstGov.  Locate information by category (food, health, product safety, etc.).

This CSULB site under Banks and Banking takes you to the sites of the Board and individual Federal Reserve Banks and related sites

 Bureau of Labor Statistics
Selected data, publications, economy at a glance.

 Bureau of Public Debt
Information on savings bonds, t-bills, etc. geared mostly at the consumer (as opposed to the researcher).

 Census Bureau
Search for data from Census of Population and Housing by subject, economic indicators, etc. Lots of government data here.

 Congressional Budget Office
Contains a wealth of budget related information.

 Department of Agriculture

 Department of Commerce
Has links to Commerce web sites by bureau (e.g. Export Administration, Census, International Trade Administration) as well as the usual phone listings and press releases.

 Department of Energy

 Department of Labor
Information on laws, regulations, programs & services, and America's Job Bank link.

 Federal Communications Commission
Site provides a daily digest of FCC activities, speeches, forms, consumer information, etc.

 Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation
Has statistical information on banking, banking rules & regulations, consumer news, etc.

 Financial Management Service
This bureau of the Treasury provides data on the nation's currency, securities and other financial instruments.

 General Accounting Office
The GAO is "the investigative arm of Congress. Charged with examining matters relating to the receipt and disbursement of public funds, GAO performs audits and evaluations of Government programs and activities."

 Internal Revenue Service
Tax forms, publications, tax regulations, taxpayer "help", etc.

 International Trade Commission
An independent federal agency that provides trade advice to the government and examines instances of unfair trade practices.

 National Labor Relations Board
Collective bargaining and unfair labor practices.

Can search for and order copies of patents.  The Web Patent Database contains the full text of patents 1976 to date.
