  • Center for Research in Electronic Commerce
    This research center at the University of Texas provides links news, resources, publications, etc.
  • Digital Commerce Center
    Based at the University of Southern California, the Digital Commerce Center offers an extensive collection of resources and information, divided into seven sections including Internet Advertising, Media Convergence, and Small Business Advisor, etc.
  • EBoz! Your Guide to Creating Successful Websites
    Provides resources and tools necessary to create electronic commerce web sites.
  • e-business (ZDNet)
    Provides e-business news, links to technical information, reviews, etc.
  • Web Marketing Today - Research Room
    Claims to be "the largest collection of articles, links and resources on e-commerce to be found at any single place on the planet."  Look for the "free access" section, since some of this site is fee based.
  • eLAB
    One of the first academic projects organized to study the implications of commercializing the web.
  • eMarketer
    Provides articles and statistics for free on the site (though some reports must be purchased).  There are also links to other e-commerce related sites.
  • Internet.com's Marketing Channel
    The "E-Business and Internet Technology Network" provides some very nice features such as:

    "The biggest resource on the web, offering practical advice on best web marketing practice and thousands of links to related articles and sites.

Legal Issues

  • CIO.com-Security
    Created by CIO magazine, "examines the current state and future directions of conducting commerce on the Net." Has legal information, case studies, security issues, etc.
  • Electronic Commerce and Internet Law Resource Center
    The internet and e-commerce from a legal perspective. Links to journals and research papers.  Site is maintained by a law firm which specializes in (among other things) ecommerce law.  Their list of ecommerce clients is impressive.

  • CyberAtlas
    Provides statistics and web marketing information.
  • Economic and Social Impacts of Electronic Commerce: Preliminary Findings and Research Agenda
    This 156-page report from the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development examines the past and potential impact that e-commerce promises to have on business and the economy. The report is broken into five chapters, which need to be viewed separately, including "Growth of electronic commerce: present and potential," "Electronic commerce, jobs and skills," and "Societal implications of electronic commerce," each with its own set of charts and graphs. A report summary is also included.
  • Falling Through the Net
    The latest installment (third report) of a NTIA/Commerce Dept. study of Internet use in the U.S.   Has charts on email and WWW use, computer ownership, etc., broken down by gender, race, and rural/urban.
  • StatMarket
    Provides statistics on internet usage.
