Dissertation Abstracts includes summaries of doctoral dissertations and masters theses from over 1,000 North American and European universities. Topics include all aspects of Asian and Asian American culture and history.

Massive database on education, teaching, curriculum design from preschool level to postgraduate. Good resource for Asian & Asian American approaches to education, practice and policy.

ETHNIC NEWSWATCH

This is a full text database that includes information from newspapers and periodicals written by and about various ethnic groups including Asian Americans.



HISTORICAL ABSTRACTS

Over 2000 scholarly journals, books, book reviews, and Ph.D. dissertations covering world history (exclusive of the United States and Canada) from 1450 to the present. Coverage ranges from late 1950s to present.



HUMANITIES ABSTRACTS


This database cites articles from more than 400 periodicals on archaelogy, art, classics, film, folklore, journalism, linguistics, music, the performing arts, philosophy, religion, world history, and world literature.





HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES RETROSPECTIVE


Covers scholarly journal articles published from 1900-1984. Good research tool for finding older articles published during the first half of the 20th Century.

This bibliography which is arranged alphabetically by ethnicity lists books for school age children. Within each ethnicity the book title and grade level is provided. There is also a list of materials for teachers with an interest in Asia.



CHINESE IN CALIFORNIA

From the website: "The Chinese in California, 1850-1925 illustrates nineteenth and early twentieth century Chinese immigration to California through about 8,000 images and pages of primary source materials. Included are photographs, original art, cartoons and other illustrations; letters, excerpts from diaries, business records, and legal documents; as well as pamphlets, broadsides, speeches, sheet music, and other printed matter. These documents describe the experiences of Chinese immigrants in California, including the nature of inter-ethnic tensions.
