Use Bibliographies to Find Books
Subject bibliographies are books that offer an organized, comprehensive list of published and unpublished materials on a specific subject. Bibliographies are useful when you are searching a general topic and need to find a lot of information. Search COAST by LC subject heading with the added word -- Bibliography or do a keyword search with the word Bibliography and your search term. Art Abstracts and
Art Index Retrospective Citations and abstracts from nearly 300 journals worldwide about all aspects of art and artists; includes articles published 1984 to date.
Art Index Retrospective covers 1929-1983.
Anthropology Plus Worldwide coverage of the fields of social, cultural, physical, biological and linguistic anthropology, ethnology, archaeology, folklore, material culture, and related interdisciplinary studies. 1880 to present.
BHA -- Bibliography of the History of Art A web-based index to over 2500 journals, books, conference proceedings, exhibition catalogs, and other sources dealing with Western Art from 4th century B.C. to present.
Getty Research Tools A collection of databases offered by the Getty Research Institute relating to the visual arts, architecture, and related fields. Databases include: Photo Study Collection Database, Provenance Index Databases (art collecting), and Vocabulary Databases.
Grove Art Online Grove Art Online contains 45,000 articles on every aspect of the visual arts, painting, sculpture, graphic arts, architecture, decorative arts and photography from prehistory to the present day. Ongoing updates.
Humanities Abstracts More than 400 periodicals on archaeology, art, classics, film, folklore, journalism, linguistics, music, the performing arts, philosophy, religion, world history, and world literature from 1984 to date.
IIDA Knowledge Center This is the research database of the International Interior Design Association. Includes articles about interior design, conference papers, industry reports and more. It also includes a calendar of interior design-related events.
