Your paper may talk about their life, contributions or an event they were a part of.

Choose a person by looking at the People in the News or Virtual Reference Page: Biography. Choose a person by their profession or other categories, like left-handed, gay, etc.

Search some of these online biography sites for more information on a person:

• Freeality online biographies;
• Biographical Dictionary, this is best for historical figures;
• Distinguished Women of the Past;
• In the Frist Person: an index to letters, diaries, oral histories, and other personal narratives.

Once you have chosen a person, try these indexes to find more information on the person:

• Biography indexes (CSULB students only) lead to dictionaries or encyclopedias that contain information on a person. Reader's Guide Abstracts (CSULB students only) also leads to articles about people.

• COAST for books about a person. Click on Subject and type in their name, for more books click on Repeat Search in Link+ (in the upper right hand corner of the screen).
