What is the scope and coverage of ThomasNet.com?

  • ThomasNet.com is a comprehensive directory of companies and products manufactured in the United States. You can search, view company websites, online catalogs, and CAD (Computer Aided Design) drawings.
  • ThomasNet is the online version of the print Thomas Register of American Manufacturers Thomas Register Catalog File (located on 4th floor T12.T612 v.1-12). The print version has additional company information such as officer names, assets rating, company size, and number of employees.
  • ThomasRegister.com is updated frequently and contains listings for 650,000 manufacturers, distributors and service companies, 152,000 brand names, 67,000 product and service categories, and over 800,000 products.

How do I search for a company, product or brand name?

1.) Enter your search terms into the Industrial Search box. Use boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) to build your search. Select "product/service" or "company name" from the pull down menu. Select "location" from pull down menu.

Search for transistor and silicon as a product/service in the United States and Canada.
Tip: Try the "Browse Categories" links on the bottom of the screen.
Browse Categories by clicking on the links.

2.) Your results are listed in the Directory. Click on "Company Profile" or web site link to access the company profile.
Tip: Use the "Modify Results" toolbar on the left side of the screen to limit your search.
Tip: See the "Related Directory Results" to see related categories.
Select Directory Results or Web Results using the tabs.
3.) Click on the "View Web Results" tab to get additional Internet links.

4.) Email your results, save your results to "MyThomas" or print the screen by click on the "Printer-friendly version" in the upper right corner of the screen.

How do I email/print the results?
Select printer-friendly version and use the brower to print items.
To e-mail results, click on the "Email this search to a Colleague" link at the top, right of the results screen and enter your email address. Click Send.

To print results, click on "Printer Friendly Version" at the top, right of the results screen. Next, go to File>Print in your browser window.

How do I access CAD drawings?
Click on CAD Drawings from the top toolbar to access CAD Register.com. Follow the directions for using PartSpec, PlantSpec, and CADBlocks.
Select CAD Drawings in the top tool bar.

Do I have to register to use ThomasNet.com?
No, you do not have to register to search and view all of the product and company information. Registration is free and will give you access to specialization features such as saving and emailing results, emailing companies directly, and more.
