Million Dollar Directory

About Million Dollar Directory

The Million Dollar Directory database provides information on over 1.6 million public and private companies (across all industries) with sales of one million dollars or more, or 20+ employees, or branches with 50+ employees. It includes companies in the U.S. and Canada. The company data in this database is updated every 60 days.

To run Million Dollar Directory on the Internet successfully, you must use one of the following browsers:

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 (or higher) OR Netscape Navigator 6.1 (or higher)


Searching the Database

On the Search Options page there are four tabs labeled: Company, Industry, Executive and Other. Each tab allows you to search different criteria.

  • Company Tab: use this tab to enter search criteria relating to a business i.e. name, location, geographic area, D-U-N-S Number, number of employees and annual sales.
  • Industry Tab: use this tab to search for a specific industry or industries i.e. SIC code, SIC keyword description, NAICS code, NAICS keyword description and line of business.
  • Executive Tab: use the executive tab to search for companies by names of executives, their titles or any keyword(s) found in an executive biography.
  • Other tab: use this tab to specifiy whether a company is public or private or a subsidiary or whether the company is a branch or headquarter or a single entity. You can also search by import/export status, the bank or accounting firm the company uses and the date the current management assumed ownership.

Your Search Results and Managing Them

The Search Results page lists the companies that match your search criteria. From this page you can:

  • Click the name of any company on the Results List to view the Company Report.
  • Click an option on the navigation bar located at the top of the screen to modify your current search (Modify Search), view the search criteria your search is based on (My Criteria), print or export information (Output), start a new search (New Search), get online help (Help ?), or log off (Logoff).
  • Use the Sort By drop down menu to change the order in which the companies are listed. Using the drop down menu, make your choice and then click on the Sort tab. You can sort by Company Name, State, Primary SIC, Sales, Total Employees, and Location Status. Note that you can also change the list to go by ascending or descending order. Use the arrows located next to the drop down menu boxes.
  • Browse through the records.
  • Use the boxes in the left column of the Results List titled Output to select specific records that you want to either print or export to a disk.

Formats for Printing

Contact company name & address, executive names & titles and names of other officers
Basic company name & address, county, metropolitan area, phone number, D-U-N-S Number, tradestyle, line of business, primary & secondary SICs/NAICSs, executive names & titles, and names of other officers
Company annual sales in U.S. dollars, ownership/control date, number of employees, and subsidary status as well as information contained in the Basic format
Full includes all information available on a company

Formats for Exporting

 

Name/Address with CEO Only

a file that contains the mailing address & CEO name information

Name/Address Data with All Available Executives

a file that contains mailing addresses & executive name information. For each available executive name, a separate record will be produced.

Name/Address Data with Executives Tagged on the Company View

a file that contains the mailing address & executive name information. For each executive name checked, a separate record will be produced.

Company Record (Minus Executive Bios and Secondary SICs)

a file that contains all company information with the exception of the executive biographies, secondar SIC's and executive names beyond the first 10. You must check the specific names of the executives if you want them to be included in the Company Record export file.
