Searching Hints

  • First select your search option. Full Record searches all fields.
  • There are pre-search options as to what fields to display.  It is recommended that you choose Full Record which will allow you to more easily manage search results.
  • Use * to truncate words, e.g. nano* will find nanotechnology, nanometre, etc.
  • You can select between: 2000-, all records, or the latest month only (250 records).
The simple search option supports single word searching. If more than one word is entered, records containing any of the words will be returned, but those containing all words (not necessarily together in a phrase) will be returned first.
  • The boolean search option (click on More Options at the top of the search screen) supports searches between two single words. If more than one word is entered, records containing all words (not necessarily together in a phrase) will be returned.
  • A list of journals indexed is available.
Saving Your Search Results: Downloading, Printing, and Mailing

RAM offers no special way to manage search results.  If you have choose Full Record display for your search results, you will have on the screen the list of records ready to print, email, or save to disk.

Follow your browser's directions for printing, emailing, or saving results to a diskette.
