| American Hospital Directory |
The American Hospital Directory provides online, comparative data for most United States (also Puerto Rico and Guam) hospitals, including hospital characteristics, services provided, outpatient statistics, financial reports, inpatient utilization, costs and charges. The database contains Medicare claims data, cost reports, and other public use files obtained from the federal Health Care Financing Administration. The directory also includes American Hospital Association (AHA) Annual Survey Data licensed from Health Forum, an AHA company.
Access From the Library's Electronic Resources page. After clicking on the American Hospital Directory, you will be taken to a screen that gives you the user name and password to login.
Searching From the Hospital Search screen, you can search for hospitals by entering some or all of the following: Hospital Name, City, State (can select from pull down menu), Zip code, Telephone area code. Click on Submit Query to begin search.
The List of Search Results screen lists the hospital(s) that match your search criteria. Click on the hospital's name to see its profile:
4 Hospital Characteristics are licensed from Health Forum. The AHA Survey period is given for the data.
Printing, Emailing and Downloading/Saving Results: Use the export options when available or the Web browser function to print, email and save.
Exiting: There are controls that prevent simultaneous usage by more than one person using the same password. Please logout when finished.
