The CSULB Library Interlibrary Services offers two options to obtain materials not currently available (checked out, temporarily unavailable, or never owned) at CSULB: ILLiad InterLibrary Services and LINK+. These services are available to all CSULB students, faculty, and staff.
ILLiad Interlibrary Services
Basic guidelines for use of the services are as follows:
- Materials that can be borrowed include books, book chapters, conference proceedings, dissertations, and periodical articles.
- For more information on ILLiad, please read our FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions).
- Average delivery time is 5 - 7 working days for returnable materials and articles not delivered electronically.
- Materials requested through ILLiad (which can not be delivered to you in electronic form) can be picked up at the 2nd Floor services counter whenever the library is open.
- You can check the status of your recently submitted ILLiad requests by logging on to ILLiad. You will also be notified electronically when your ILLiad requests are "ready for pick up".
ILLiad questions can be directed to library personnel at the 2nd Floor service desk (Media /Reserve /Interlibrary Services). The 2nd Floor service desk is open all library hours.
For further information, please call (562) 985-4628.
LINK+
In 1999, the CSULB Library joined a consortium of libraries to provide a single, searchable catalog of books. When you click the "LINK+" button in COAST, your search will be broadcast to our many partner LINK+ libraries.
- Books, proceedings, and dissertations are the only material types available via LINK+ loans at this time. Periodical articles must be requested through ILLiad.
- For more information on LINK+, please read the help page.
- Average delivery time is 2 -5 working days.
- Materials requested through LINK+ can be picked at the Circulation Desk.
- You will receive no notification from LINK+ regarding the status of your requests. You can check the status of your LINK+ requests by viewing your Library Account.
NOTE: It takes 10 to 30 minutes (depending on network traffic) before the information regarding a LINK+ request item appears on your library record.
LINK+ questions can be directed to library personnel at the Circulation Desk. The Circulation Desk is open all library hours.
For further information, please call (562) 985-5512.
If you are short of time, you may want to search individual library catalogs and go directly to another campus to use and/or borrow materials. There are mutual use and special lending agreements among various neighboring institutions.
