INFORMATION GUIDE FOR RECIPROCAL BORROWERS FROM CSULB

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Golden West College Library welcomes eligible CSULB students, faculty, and staff  to borrow library materials under the Agreement for Mutual Lending Privileges of Library Materials.  To obtain borrowing privileges, present the following items to the library staff at the Circulation Desk in order to obtain a library card:

• Current student ID with registration fee payment sticker or staff ID
• Photo ID (e.g. California Driver's license)
• Social security number

LIBRARY HOURS:

Note:  The library is closed on public holidays, Spring and Winter vacations, and semester breaks.

DIRECTIONS:
GWC is located on Golden West Street between McFadden and Edinger.  From the 405 Freeway, exit on Golden West Street and proceed south.  The college will be on the left.  From the 22 Freeway, exit on Knott/Golden West Street and proceed south on Knott/Golden West St.  The college is located on the left.  Turn left into the campus at the signal on Golden West Street between McFadden and Edinger.  The library is located in the middle of the campus, across from the GWC Bookstore.

You may obtain driving directions from your location at MAPQUEST.

PARKING:
A parking permit is required.  One-day permits may be purchased at vending machines adjacent to parking lots.

LOAN PERIOD:
The student and staff loan period for circulating books is three weeks.  Faculty may borrow books until the end of the current semester. Periodical and media items are for library use only and do not circulate.  Reserve materials may not be checked out by reciprocal borrowers.

RENEWALS:
Circulating books may be renewed for an additional three weeks, if they are not needed by another patron.  You may renew books either in person or by calling the Circulation Desk at (714) 895-8741, x55181.

RETURNS:
The borrower is responsible for returning materials on or before the due date.  All items must be returned directly to the GWC Library.  A Book Return, located outside of the Library's front entrance, is available when the Library is closed.

FINES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
An overdue notice will be mailed to the borrower for items not returned on time. 

• Overdue fines for circulating books:  $ .25 a day for each item;  $10.00 maximum fine per item.
• Lost or damaged materials are billed at the current replacement cost of the item plus any overdue fines.

Borrowers are subject to the rules and regulations of the Golden West College Library.  Failure to satisfy any GWC library obligations may result in suspension of borrowing privileges and/or access to transcripts, grades, and registration at the borrower's home library. 

ELECTRONIC INFORMATION RESOURCES: 
Information databases licensed by the GWC Library are not available through remote access to reciprocal borrowers.  Computers with Internet access within the library are restricted to members of the GWC campus community.
