Location: The Schauerman Library is located in the center of the El Camino College campus. The campus address is: 16007 Crenshaw Blvd., Torrance, CA 90506.

Directions: El Camino College is located off the 405/San Diego freeway at either the Crenshaw Blvd. exit (going North on the 405) or the Redondo Beach Blvd. exit (going South on the 405) in the South Bay area.

Hours: The hours of the library vary depending on the time of the year. Generally, the library is open the following hours:

Monday - Thursday 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Saturday 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

It is recommended that you call the Circulation Desk to confirm hours prior to using the Schauerman Library.

Parking: A parking permit is required to park in any student/public lot from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. seven days a week. One-day permits are available for $2.00 at vending machines located throughout the campus (Lots D,H,K,L).

Registration: Any eligible student, faculty, staff and administrator from any institution with which our library has a signed partnership agreement may register for a Schauerman Library card. Present a picture ID and proof of registration or employment from your institution to the staff at the Circulation Desk to obtain library borrowing privileges at El Camino College. 

Loan Periods: Students may borrow circulating books for three weeks. Faculty and staff may borrow circulating books for six weeks. Borrowers may have ten books maximum at a time. Reserve materials may be borrowed but do not circulate outside the Schauerman Library.

Renewals: Circulating materials may be renewed, if not needed by another patron, either in person at the Circulation Desk or by telephone: (310) 660-3519.

Returns: The borrower is responsible for returning materials on or before the due date. Materials may be returned directly to the Library's Circulation Desk, the book return located near the West entrance of the Library or the outside book bin located near the Campus Theater.

Obligations/Responsibilities: A fine of 25 cents a day is charged for overdue circulating books. Lost books are charged at the rate of the cost of the book plus $10 processing fee. Failure to satisfy any Schauerman Library obligation may result in suspension of borrowing privileges and/or access to transcripts and registration at the borrower's home library.
