See additional information below:

Request materials for purchase (books, journals, etc.)

Teaching faculty recommend materials by submitting requests directly to their department's subject specialist librarian.  New materials may be recommended by submitting a Recommend New Items form, though sending them directly to the subject specialist is preferred.

Borrowing Books and Media

Books normally circulate to faculty for 120 days. Media materials (audiocassettes, compact discs, videos, and DVDs) circulate for 7 days. Faculty loans are subject to recall when there are other requests for the materials.  Check COAST to access My Library Account to determine what materials are checked out to you or to renew any of your materials.

Borrowing Periodicals

Current, unbound and older, bound periodicals circulate to faculty for 3 days.  Current periodicals check out from Current Periodicals on the Lower Level and bound periodicals from the Circulation Desk, Lobby.

Classroom Library Research Assignments

All assignments, particularly those given to large or multi-section classes, have a tremendous impact on the collections and services of our library.  Prior to making such assignments, it is recommended that you consider sharing the planned assignment with your subject specialist and scheduling a library instruction session geared to the specific needs of your course, and putting appropriate materials on reserve.
