License
California State University, Long Beach participates in the CSU Minitab License [opens new window]. It is an annual subscription coordinated by the Office of Academic Technology. The Minitab license use agreement period is July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009.
This software may be used on your personally owned computer primarily used for CSULB business as well as your university owned computer. Software installation always requires administrative privileges of which you may not have on your university owned computer. Please contact your division, department or college technologist for assistance.

System Requirements
The minimum system requirements for Minitab are listed below.
- Operating System: Windows 98, NT4, ME, 2000, XP, Vista
- Processor: 1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit
- Memory: 512 MB RAM minimum
- Hard Disk Space: 125 MB of free hard disk space for program files
- Monitor: 1024x768 recommended
- Apple Macintosh users can run Minitab using Windows emulation software such as Microsoft's Virtual PC, Fusion or Parallels.
Installation
Minitab can be downloaded from the Software Depot [opens new window]. Users are also encouraged to borrow the software at the University Library Reserve desk. Minitab is on CD-R media. The Software Depot steps are listed below.
- Log into Software Depot using your MYCSULB account and password.
- Use "Search by Product Titles" and select "Minitab 15 for Windows". Click Go button.
- Click "Add to Cart".
- Click "Check Out".
- Product and customer names should appear. Enter your email address as you will be sent a notification message. Click the Next button.
- Purchase Receipt screen will appear. Click "Secure Download".
- Click "Download Software". A security warning will appear - click Continue button.
- When asked if you would like to save this file, click "Save File".
- Select a directory to save Minitab and click "Save".
- Logoff of Software Depot.
- Navigate to the downloaded Minitab file and click to launch.
- "License Authorization and Software Installation" screen will appear. Click continue.
- Click "Launch Install" button and when ready, double click the Minitab "setup.exe" file to begin the installation.
