Products

Respondus is a software tool for creating and managing exams. Exams can be printed to paper or published directly to BeachBoard.

The products include:

  • Respondus 3.5 Campus-wide Version 3.5.4f, July 25, 2008 or higher.
  • Respondus Equation Editor 4.0

License

California State University, Long Beach participates in the CSU Respondus License [opens new window]. It is an annual subscription coordinated by the Office of Academic Technology. The program provides Respondus software for not-for-profit educational purposes. Faculty and staff can install the software on personally-owned computers provided that individuals who are not affiliated with CSULB do not gain usage.

CSULB's Respondus installation may require division, department or college technologists assistance for university-owned workstations. Contact your division, department or college technologist for assistance.

System Requirements

The minimum system requirements for Respondus are listed below.

  • Operating System: Windows 98, NT4, ME, 2000, XP, Vista
  • Memory: 32 MB RAM minimum
  • Hard Disk Space: 10 MB of free hard disk space for program files
  • Monitor: 800x600 minimum (1024x768 recommended)
  • Course Management System: Respondus 3 is compatible with the following course management systems and industry standards: Blackboard 6.0 and higher (Basic and Enterprise)
  • Apple Macintosh users can run Respondus using Windows emulation software such as Microsoft's Virtual PC, Fusion or Parallels.

Installation

Before Installing Respondus, quit all other applications, especially word processors as they may interfere with Respondus Equation Editor Setup's ability to install fonts. The software is currently available through Software Depot.
