Products

Elluminate Live! provides a real-time online classroom/meeting environment. Faculty can create meetings and invite their students to participate. The online meetings can be created within BeachBoard or they can be facilitated outside of BeachBoard.

Elluminate Next> includes Elluminate Plan!

  • Elluminate Plan! enables faculty and staff to organize and package content and activities before the real-time Elluminate Live! session. It automates routine tasks and allows instructors/convening chairs to focus on delivering material, facilitating interaction and enhancing the learning experience/meeting goals.

License

California State University, Long Beach subscribes to Elluminate Live! and Elluminate Next>. The annual license is coordinated by the Office of Academic Technology. Faculty and staff can use Elluminate Live! as instructors/moderators while students will participate in Elluminate Live! sessions hosted by a faculty or staff member.

Elluminate Next> is available for both university and personally-owned computers. Faculty and staff can download Elluminate Plan! from the Software Depot [opens new window] and install on personally-owned computers used primarily for university business. Contact your division, department or college technologist for assistance with university-owned computers.

System Requirements

Minimum requirements for using Elluminate Live! and Elluminate Next> include:

  • Sun's Java 1.5 or 1.6 at Sun Java website [opens new window].
  • 256 MB RAM
  • 20 MB hard disk space
  • Soundcard with speakers and microphone or headset for Elluminate Live! session
  • 28.8 kbps Internet connection for Elluminate Live! session

Platforms include Windows, Macintosh, Solaris and Linus (Red Hat and Novell). Minimum operating systems and processors are:

Windows

  • Windows 2000, XP or Vista
  • Pentium III 500 MHz processor

Macintosh

  • Mac OS X 10.2.8, 10.3.9, 10.4 or 10.5 for Elluminate Live!
  • Mac OS X 10.4 or 10.5 for Elluminate Plan!
  • G3, G4, G5 or Intel processor

Solaris

  • Solaris 10 (SPARC only)  for Elluminate Live!
  • Solaris 10x86 or Solaris 10 SPARC for Elluminate Plan!
  • UltraSPARC 11c 300 Mhz with 128 MB RAM

Linux

  • Red Hat Linux (RHEL4)
  • Novell SUSE Linux 9 and 10
