CSULB Site Licensed Software ListMany software products licensed by the university have restrictions. In order to comply with license terms and conditions, some titles may only be downloaded and installed on university owned computers by authorized campus technology staff. Faculty and staff should contact your division, department, college technologist or the Technology Help Desk [opens new window] for assistance.

1. A computer owned by CSULB. 2. A computer owned by an individual faculty, staff or student. 3. CSULB is currently participating in a three-year Apple Maintenance Program. This allows campus Mac labs to provide users with the most current Mac OS. Check with your division or college/department technical support staff to determine if any of their Mac OS licenses are still available for assignment. Check the Apple Higher Education pricelist and select Education Volume Licensing Agreement [opens new window]. 4. CSULB faculty and students can join the online AutoDesk Student Engineering and Design Community at http://students.autodesk.com. Free student versions of Civil 3D 2007, Inventor 11, Revit Building 9, Revit Structure 4, Raster Desing, VIZ, Alias studio and AuoCAD Electrical can be downloaded from this site for non-profit, educational usage only 5. Faculty and staff may purchase a media kit that includes an installation cd and license key from the University Bookstore. The media kit can be used to install one copy of the software on one personally owned computer that is used primarily by the CSULB faculty or staff member and primarily for conducting CSULB business. If the personally owned computer is a Macintosh or PC with Linux, the one copy of the software may either be installed on that machine or on a virtual machine running on that machine. The University’s Volume Licensing Media and keys may NOT be used on personally owned computers under any circumstances. It is a violation of our Microsoft license agreement.
6. Some restrictions apply whereby only authorized campus technical support professionals may obtain the media and license codes through Software Depot for installation.
7. CSULB's Symantec licensing agreement allows installation on University owned computers only as of March 2008. A PC license may be installed on Macintosh computers running a virtual machine.
