Classroom use:
The i>clicker does not actually integrate with programs running on your computer, rather it runs alongside them. Because of this you can use virtually any program you want with the i>clicker.
When you start a poll question with your class, i>clicker takes a screenshot of the screen to associate with the question, allowing you to go back and see what you were showing the class at the time of the poll.
General use:
The i>clicker is generally used for basic feedback in the form of polling. It allows you to see about how well the class understands the material being presented. To use your i>clicker in class:
- Plug in your i>clicker base to your computer
- Open the i>clicker application
- Choose the class that you want to open and click on Choose
- Choose the Start Session button
*An easy way to integrate i>clickers into your class would be to set up a question about every third or fourth slide in a powerpoint presentation. The instructor remote can move back and forth through the slides, start and stop polling, establish a correct answer and can display results.
If there is no question displayed on screen, you can ask a question on the fly by choosing "Question on the Fly" from the drop down menu of the i>clicker display.
When your session is over exit out of the displayed i>clicker window, you session will be saved and will be viewable from the i>grader application.
