Set up new account

Setting up a New BeachBoard Account and Password

Step One: Get a Campus ID

All CSULB students are issued a nine digit campus ID.   The nine digit campus ID is located immediately beneath the photograph on your BeachID card.  If you have not yet received a BeachID card or a campus ID, please visit ID Card Services located on the southwest end of the university bookstore.  Your Campus ID can also be found on your proof of registration documents.  For more information on the campus ID, please go to the following URL:  http://beachid.com.

You will use your nine digit campus ID for both BeachBoard and MyCSULB logins.

More Information

Q: I entered my date of birth for my password and got an error message saying that "The value entered for the password is incorrect. There are 4 attempts left for entering a correct password." What went wrong?
A: This error message means that you have already set up a password. There are three ways to recover or reset your old password:

  1. Go to http://www.csulb.edu/tim/recover.html and recover your MyCSULB/BeachBoard password by following the on-screen instructions.
  2. Visit the Technology Help Desk's Walk-In Service Center in the Horn Center and have your MyCSULB/BeachBoard password reset. Please remember to bring your campus ID.
  3. Contact the CSULB Human Resources Information System (HRIS) Helpdesk at (562) 985-7393 and request that they email you a link to reset your MyCSULB/BeachBoard password. This service is only available to CSULB instructors and staff, not students. HRIS will send a password reset email message to your "preferred" email address, the address you or your department previously set for you in MyCSULB.
