Sharing a Portfolio with a BeachBoard Course

To share a portfolio with a BeachBoard course.
- Login to BeachBoard. https://beachboard.csulb.edu/
- Click the My Content tab.
- Click the Portfolios icon on the left side of the screen.
- Click the My Portfolios link.
- To the right of the portfolio you wish to share, click the Modify link
- Click the Share Portfolio link
- In the pull-down list on the right side of the screen, choose Share with Courses
- Click the Go button
- Click the Browse button. This will open a pop-up window.
- Enter the name of your courses in the Search For box. The name of your course is a four letter department code [e.g., ELIB, ECON, PROF, etc.], an underscore, and then the three digit course number [e.g., 100, 151, 200, etc. For example, if you want to share your portfolio with ELIB 520, you would enter ELIB_520. To share your portfolio with ECON 100, you would enter ECON_100. The underscore between the department code and course number is required.
- In the Search Field, choose Course ID. IMPORTANT: If you forget to choose Course ID and instead of Course Name, BeachBoard will tell you that "no courses found for the current search."
- Click the Search button.
- Place a checkmark to the left of the course with which you would like to share your portfolio.
- Click the Submit button. This will close the pop-up window.
- Make sure the Course ID has been inputted, then click the Submit button.
This successfully shares your portfolio with the course. To view your portfolio and the portfolios of the rest of the students in your class:
- Click the My BeachBoard tab at the top of the screen
- Under My Courses, click the name of the course you wish to access.
- Click the Control Panel link
- Under Course Tools, click the Course Portfolios link
Add a Portfolios link to Course Menu
- Login to BeachBoard. https://beachboard.csulb.edu/
- Under My Courses, click on the course into which you would like to add a portfolio link to the course menu.
- Click on the course's Control Panel link.
- Under Course Options, click the Manage Course Menu link.
- Click the Course Link icon

- Under Set Area Properties,
- Type in a Name for the Course Link
- To the right of Location, click Browse. The Course Map pop-up window will appear.
- Click on the plus sign
next to Tools.
- Click the Course Portfolios link. [The Course Map pop-up window will automatically close]
- Select Available for Student/Participant users

- Click Submit.
