We are pleased to announce our newest paper “Examining Hispanic/Latino mothers’ perceptions of their child’s weight: Comparison of silhouette and categorical survey methods” has been published in the journal of Childhood Obesity. You can find a copy of the paper in the publications page on our website.

In the paper Dr. Garcia and her co-authors examined two methods of measuring mothers’ perceptions of children’s weight and factors associated with weight perception inaccuracy. The research highlights the importance of mother’s recognizing children’s overweight/obesity status and the health risks associated with excess weight in order to motivate them to modify their children’s lifestyle.
