CIO'S MESSAGE - December 11, 2018

"CSU Training" to Replace SkillSoft: Complete Any Pending Training

Dear Colleagues,

The Chancellor’s Office is implementing a new CSU-wide compliance training system, "CSU Training". This new training system will replace the current SkillSoft system and any other compliance training systems in use today by all CSU faculty and staff, including employees in auxiliary organizations and units.

CSU Training is scheduled to go live on January 29, 2019, and is expected to provide a streamlined web-based learning environment with intuitive navigation for all CSU required compliance training. CSU Training contains more than 75,000 online courses, books, videos, in-person activities and required compliance training.

To facilitate the transition, please complete any currently assigned training in SkillSoft by December 31, 2018. Any unfinished trainings will need to be repeated in the new system. Please note the following:

  • SkillSoft and CSU Training systems will not be available January 1 to January 28. Therefore, faculty and staff will not be able to perform any training in either system during this time.
  • All registrations and activities completed before December 31 will be transferred to CSU Training.
  • On January 29, the SkillSoft bookmark in the Campus Single Sign-On (SSO) system will be replaced by a new CSU Training bookmark.

Please don’t hesitate to contact Division of IT at DoIT-ServiceManagement@csulb.edu if you have any questions or need further information.
