INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Zeta Beta Tau (ZBT), founded as the Nation's first Jewish fraternity, has been invited by California State University-Long Beach to start a new fraternity on campus during the 2007-08 academic year.
ZBT will be looking for "Founding Fathers" at Cal State Long Beach this fall. ZBT is inviting students who are interested to participate in the annual IFC recruitment information night on September 17, 2007.
Being a "Founding Father" at Cal State Long Beach will provide you an instant social, academic and professional network! ZBT has over 130,000 alumni and more than 10,000 in the Southern California area.
In 1989 ZBT became the first fraternity to abolish pledging. Upon accepting a bid to join, men are initiated within seventy-two hours. ZBT provides its members with a four-year comprehensive brotherhood program.

CHARLOTTE, N.C.-An expansion team from Pi Kappa Phi National Headquarters will arrive at California State University, Long Beach this fall to start a new chapter of Pi Kappa Phi. Beginning in late October, the Pi Kappa Phi expansion team will spend four weeks recruiting men to be founding fathers of the new chapter. As founding fathers, the new group will make its own decisions, set its own rules and start its own traditions-effectively building the chapter from the ground up.
"Building your own fraternity is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," said Scott Thomas, a member of Pi Kappa Phi's expansion team. "We want the men at CSULB to have that opportunity to make the most of their college experience."

The addition of Pi Kappa Phi to the CSULB Greek community will be the first since the mid-1990s. Other chapters of Pi Kappa Phi in the area include California State University, Northridge; California State University, Fullerton and UCLA.
The six member fraternities of the Interfraternity Council at California State University, Long Beach have announced plans to double the size of their council over the next four years.
