Trans-Epithelial Transport Mechanisms

to produce a filtrate of the blood across the renal epithelium
of the kidney.

       i)  Transcellular transport through the cytoplasm.

      ii)  Transcellular transport through the cell by a 
           process of cytopempsis.

     iii)  'Formed' body process of fluid transportation
           (Riegel, 1970).

      iv)  Intercellular transport through the intercellular
           spaces and gap junctions between the cells.
