Nuclei of Mucous Cell

Basal portion of a mucous cell. The nucleus lies basally in cytoplasm
rich in RER. An active Golgi body lies adjacent to the nucleus. Electron
dense bodies also occasionally occur in this region of the cell.
Extensive cytoplasmic extensions, characteristic of the nephrocytes, are
absent from the mucous cell.
