Nate Onderdonk, Ph.D, is a professor and undergraduate advisor in the Geological Sciences Department at California State University, Long Beach. He studies active faults and tectonics in Southern California. He currently researches active faults in the San Jacinto, southern San Andreas and Santa Barbara/Santa Maria areas. His work has been used to refine earthquake hazard estimates for the state of California, and he is an active member of the Southern California Earthquake Center. Onderdonk has given numerous interviews to journalists across the state about earthquakes.
