
The College of the Arts (COTA) has established itself as one of largest and most recognized state supported arts schools in the nation. Currently it stands as the largest public university arts college in California, boasting more than 4,000 graduate and undergraduate students.
COTA is comprised of six unique, artistically engaging and academically challenging departments: The Departments of Art, Dance, Design, Film and Electronic Arts, Music and Theatre, along with four auxiliary arts and letters organizations: the University Art Museum, the Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center, the Center for First Amendment Studies and the California Institute for the Preservation of Jazz.
